Q. What is EMIS Access?
A. EMIS Access is the secure website, hosted by our clinical software provider,
for patients to book appointments, order repeat prescriptions and register
online.
Q. How can I get access to the EMIS Access system?
A. You will need to get an PIN number to allow you to create an account in EMIS
Access. You can do this by emailing a request to us or coming into the surgery.
Q. I am in EMIS Access, how many appointments can I book?
A. You are restricted to 1 appointment booking for GPs. You are free to cancel
any appointment you have created and make a new one.
Q. I need an appointment for a nurse, why are there no appointments available to
book on EMIS Access?
A. We do not offer nurse appointments through EMIS Access due to the various types and lengths of appointments available for each specific procedure. If however you already have an appointment with a nurse by booking it via the telephone or at the surgery itself, you will be able to cancel it in EMIS Access.
Q. I am trying to order a repeat prescription, but my medication is not in EMIS
Access. Why?
A. Your medications will be listed if they are standard repeat prescription
medications. If some medication is not listed then the most common reason is
that you have not ordered a repeat for that drug for some time and is therefore
put into your past drugs. When this happens, usually you need to see your GP to
reactivate it (there are some small exceptions to this rule, if you are certain
it is a repeat prescription please call the surgery to have it reactivated). There is also the possibility that the medication you are ordering may not be repeat medication, but current medication that you are taking for a present illness eg. antibiotics.
Q. I have a need to email the surgery that is not regarding repeat
prescriptions, appointments or registration. Can I do this?
A. Of course. We still accept email enquiries.
